I have 3 windows in the living room which have handles. Rotating the handle results in opening and closing the window. Since this morning, I am not able to close one of the windows. Handle seems to be stuck.

I have attached 2 pictures of the handles. Can anybody please suggest, what could be the issue. Can handle be fixed. I tried opening the handle but did not find anything obvious. What is the handle called and where can I get it, in case it needs a replacement.

Thanks

These look like metal windows and in the first pic, the handle is disconnected from the window frame and will not work unless reattached. There is usually a release on the outside crank arm that allows the arm to be disconnected and then the window can be closed. In some cases, the window goes past center and is very hard to return. You may have to put careful hand pressure on the window and then try to crank it back. There are a number of mfgrs of this type of window and you will need to find the manufacturer. Many are out of business and some parts can be found on E-Bay if you know the manufacturer, their name is often on the window crank-Vista View, Anderson, Pella. HD and Lowe's carry some replacement cranks.
