What are alcoholic ingredients of chocolate martini (if pre-mix it probably has % on label.

So I get the time right, you drank on Wed, ending at what time?

Had a Bailey's & coffee. Containing how much Bailey's?

The EtG test was conducted on Saturday at 11 am?

Omg thanks for responding! I am freaking out. {contact info removed}

1. The chocolate martinis were made at pf changs restaurant here in town and probably had 1-2oz vodka I would assume in them.
2. The time on Wed was 730pm the first beer was consumed... then I had 3 martinis from 9pm to 12a... then had maybe a half a glass of reisling before 2am.
3. One ounce of bailys
4. I just got home from the EtG test that was conducted at 11am today.
I drank a lot of fluids starting at 730 am this morning but I am not sure if that would have effected my urain because it took me from 730am to 1030 am to even drink all of the beverages.
Thank you again so much... I REALLY appreciate it.

There is really no way to answer your question with certainty. You are certainly within the range of failing the EtG test based on the amount consumed and time interval for elimination. I would estimate that EtG clearance would fall in the range of 60 hours, whereas you time was in the range of 48-50 hours (from BAC = 0) Wed. The single drink within 24 hours of the test, independently, would usually clear within about 22 hours. Still too close for comfort and could range up to 30 hours.

You, like most everyone attempting to avoid detection, attempted to flush your system. Generally, with EtG that works. (See Dahl, 2002 (http://www.scopus.com/record/display.url?eid=2-s2.0-0036014541&origin=inward&txGid=pXQiBfKJ-BNcxR-wUKjn-cm%3a5)) Just one of the many flaws with this test.

There is an additional problem in your case, being the proximity to testing of the fluid intake. Most tests automatically test for dilution. So if your creatinine level falls below 20 it will be rejected as dilute. If the test proceeds it is possible to compare creatinine to EtG in ratio. As a practical matter this is seldom done.

Usually, a dilute sample (above 5 but below 20) will result in a re-test at a later date. That depends on who requested the test and/or laboratory practice.

Isn't my time 57 hours? Or are you subtracting the hours because of the one drink I had on Friday?
I also took Milk Thistle this morning at 730am 4 capsules. And then another 4 capsules at 830am. Would that help?
When talking about the addioanal problem of being the proximity to testing of the fulid intake... I think at this pointe dilute would be better than a possitive result. Do you think I drank enough fluids and in enough time to get a dilute? My urine was pretty clear with a little yellow tint.
One last question... I didn't consume a lot of food on Friday, would that help. Again, I have a pretty high motabilism and weith 110 lbs. Do I have a chance at passing this thing? Just wondering if there is even a chance :(

This hole statement just has me confused. Sorry for all the questions

EtG is created as a by-product of alcohol metabolism. So long as there is alcohol in your system you are still creating EtG. Therefore the most accurate way to determine elimination time is to subtract the time of alcohol metabolism (about 1-1/4 hr per drink) from time of last drink.

It has long been recommended that EtG be expressed as a ratio to creatinine in urine (U100EtG). When this is done then dilution doesn't work and in the case of very concentrate urine it does not artificially raise EtG readings. All research since 2002 is conducted using this principle but the commercial testing industry has never adopted the practice despite numerous scientific and professional recommendations (http://etg.weebly.com/).

You always have a chance of passing an EtG test. It is conducted in 2 steps... immunoassay (IA) and confirmatory. If the IA is negative it never goes to confirmation. IA is at very best 85% accurate and may range as low as 59% accuracy. Testing errors favor false negative results.

I'm not at all familiar with milk thistle.

If you have further questions... happy to help. It will be a couple of hours before I can get back to you.

Hey Doc... what are you thoughts on this study?

http://alcoholism.about.com/od/work/f/Is-The-Etg-Urine-Alcohol-Test-Reliable.htm

This states I would pass, right? The latest I will find out it Wednesday at noon. I may be going to jail for this. Not smart. I will never drink again!

Another question, can vanilla exctracts make a positive EtG? Thanks for your help.

The study is well controlled and thorough. The largest amount of alcohol consumed was 4.3 standard drinks. That is a pretty good dose but doesn't quite fit your profile. That test does show that EtG is variable and that is consistent with all of the other research.

You are in the range where you could pass the test. In evaluating I average across several studies. That doesn't mean my method is more accurate. It is still an average and has little individual applicability.

Vanilla extract is very high in alcohol content and would certainly cause a positive result if consumed within 24 hours of the test.

Sorry to ask you so many questions but do you think the milk thistle helped after reading this? I mean I took 8 of them. An I take them some what regularly. You think I would possibly get a dilute after taking 8 of these WITH 30oz of pure organic cranberry juice? AND the Organic Raw Kombucha (the detox drink I told you I drank) It has all kinds of enzymes and probiotics and detoxifiers in it. Link #2-3. I also read that Kombucha may have less than .5% alcohol content and is a result of the fermentation process. I HATE myself right now...

If you have time I would love your thoughts. THis will not be a waste of time I promise. I will keep you posted with my results.

I'm afraid I know nothing of Milk Thistle or Kombucha. Before it would be useful to look into a product it is necessary to completely understand how, and where, EtG is synthesized. That research isn't available. It's possible that everyone produces some EtG without consuming any alcohol.

Any detox product is no more than a shot in the dark as relates to EtG/EtS.

I did look up Milk Thistle (I've heard this 3-4 times). I see that historically it has been used to combat liver ailments and toxins. Because Phase-II ethanol metabolism creates a very toxic substance, acetaldehyde, I'm going to look a little further into Milk Thistle. But that is a very long shot and based on first glance.

By the way, if Kombucha contains even a small amount of alcohol it is creating EtG as opposed to eliminating it.

Yes. I have learned a lot. There is a study by Harvard that is worth reading. Now, if anything, I just have a few beers on fri and that is it. Plus now that I haven't been drinking I feel great and don't want to feel like anymore.

Oxford study, not Harvard. It is in an earlier post.
