Hi batman and welcome to the Plumbing pageat at AskMeHelpDesk.com. You piggybacked on an a 5 year old dead thread so I gave you one of your own. In the future, before you post look in the upper left hand corner for the date.
To answer your question;
Are there different color pipes for shower, sink or toilet?
the answer is no. The pipes are not color coded. Regards, tom

No they are not required to be colored. However, depending on how old the house is and how many renovations, you may find copper, brass, cast iron, galvanized pipe, lead, ABS, Polybutylene, PVC, CPVC or PEX, did I miss any? all of which are different colors. Most recent houses are plumbed with CPVC or PEX, depending on where you live and code requirements.

Hey MA0641,
The question was about color coding and not about the different types of pipe. Cheers, Tom

I know that but, I have people ask me a similar question whan they see Cast Iron and PVC or red and blue PEX so I thought I'd throw that out.
