My fiancé was told by her new PO today to have no contact with me. We have never been in trouble together and I have been on parole for one year with 60 days to top out.

We both go to school full time and are members of the Honor Society and President's List. Her PO says that I'm a bad influence based off my past history with p and p. I'm a recovering addict with 3 years clean and we volunteer in the community together and stay out of trouble.

What can be done to allow us to have a relationship, it's very disheartening to try so hard to change and still be measured by your past and not who you are becoming.

You could ask your PO this question. They would ultimately be the ones who would be able to decide this. And so be able to tell you what you have to do. It's my understanding that when you are on parole you are not supposed to be around anyone who is practicing criminal activities and people who have a criminal record. Hence why they said you cannot be around each other. Talk to your parole officer. Ask him/her your question and they will tell you what steps you need to take. Good Luck.
