Just wondering why I can't get pregnant, me and my husband been trying for 9 months and I already have a kid so I know its not me at least I don't think so, Could it be the marine that messed me up getting pregnant or does hp have anything to do with it me getting me pregnant? What could be some reasons I'm not getting pregnant?

Hi ashleynicolea,

There can be a number of reasons you haven't become pregnant yet. It may just be a matter of giving it more time. I know that is frustrating, but for some couples that really is all that it takes.

Most couples will become pregnant within the first year of actively trying... that includes temping/charting, perhaps ovulation test kits, watching for changes in cervical mucus, counting days on the calendar, frequent intercourse, etc.

Since you have had a child, odds are good that you would again, but sometimes women do find it difficult to become pregnant again.

Did you become pregnant quickly with your first child? Do you or your husband have any chronic health concerns? Do you have regular cycles? Any previous concerns regarding your cycles? Usually doctors wait a full year before they start any preliminary testing because it does often take time.

If you haven't tried some of the ways to determine when you are most likely to ovulate, start there. If you have, give it a bit more time. If still no success, then you might want to check with your gyn for possible testing of the basics for both you and your husband.

Also, you mentioned on another thread about Soma... this would not be advised if you are trying to become pregnant. It is not considered a good choice during pregnancy. Best to speak to your doctor about the condition you mentioned. They would know your health history, be able to offer a diagnosis and, if necessary, suggest or prescribe something appropriate given that you are trying to conceive.
