I have an HP G70 laptop with 150GB local disk memory capacity. It shows that I have 4.54GB worth of programs installed, the rest are personal documents and a few media files of which am sure they couldn't take more than 5GB installed. What I don't understand is that the local disk indicates that am running low on memory (less than 3GB left). I tried to perform the disk clean-up process but still it shows low memory left. I also ran the anti-virus scan and it show no infections. What could be the problem?

What OS are you using? Get the properties on your home folder this should tell you the size of the folder and the number of files. Media files especially video eat disk space. Also is there additional partitions or logical drives set up?

I use Windows Vista home premium. I've checked the properties of my home folder and in the process, I discovered some heavy software packages that I had downloaded and forgot to delete after installation. I deleted them and managed to free up some 8GBs.
