I brought my dog home recently from the groomers where they had to cut his hair very low to get some knots out. After having him home for a couple of days I noticed that he kept licking around his testicle area (for the record, he's been neutered). I have a suspicion that the groomers may have cut my dog. Now it appears that it hurts for him to sit, he used to RARELY shake but does it more often and it almost seems like it hurts for him to sit.
Does anyone have ANY suggestions?

Check the skin around the area that seems to be bothering him and see if it is red or sore looking. It doesn't have to be cut, clippers can cause rather painful rashes when not used correctly as I suspect this groomer may have done.
It is pretty easy to rash them, some dogs skin just can't handle the friction and heat of the blades, but a groomer should know better.
As for treatment there isn't really much that can be done from home, it will clear up in a few days but you can use some antiseptic cream on the area if you wish.

I agree 100% with Shaz. We had Shih Tzu's and they would often get quite matted and have to be clipped to almost bald. A little bit of vaseline can work wonders in soothing it.

Your main issue here is he is licking it - he needs to let it heal and NOT lick it.

Do you have any further suggestions on HOW to let the dog heal it?
