Are you asking how to find a job pet sitting? Go door to door IF YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD IS SAFE AND YOU KNOW YOUR NEIGHBORS and ask if they could use your help.

I would look into walking dogs, not dog sitting. Generally people looking for a dog sitter are looking for someone to stay in their home and take care of their dog - I'm unsure that's a responsibility an 11 year old should take on.

I agree with Sarris. I would ask your neighbors or put up an ad and start by walking dogs. Like Sarris mentioned, most people who are looking for dog sitter want them for overnight, I don't think it is legal for an 11 year old to be left along, let alone in someone else's home. You could also check out local shelters and pet stores and ask if they need any volunteers for cage cleaning. If you want to work with animals when you are older, it will look great on your resume! :)

Are your parents okay with you wanting to 'dog sit'?

Do you have any elderly or disabled neighbors who might need and appreciate help taking care of their pets? Another client might be a neighbor who needs someone to let their dog out while they are at work.

Your safety comes first. If you do get a job that will take you into someone's home or out of public view make certain that your parents are okay with it and know where and when you are supposed to be somewhere.

Be careful and don't try to walk an animal that is going to pull you all over the place. Be honest with yourself and your prospective employers about your limitations on what you can and will handle. You don't want to get hurt because an owner didn't train their animal.

Good luck.

Just my experience - my dog sitter comes in and "sits" when I'm home, entertaining the dogs, keeping them out of a room I'm painting. I would not allow an 11-year old to walk my dogs out of my eyesight.
