My GE side-by-side stopped dispensing water. Purchased a new water filter and can hear the motor running when the lever is pressed. I filled my glass with water & drank it, went to refill my glass in about 1 hour and it wouldn't dispense anymore water. If anyone has any ideas why this occurred and how it can be fixed I would appreciate hearing your answer.

Silly question, but do you have water elsewhere? It may need a new filter or something maybe plugged. I had a similar problem with mine. It stopped making ice and the water just trickled from it. I replaced the filter and it worked great. However, on that same fridge, I had my tenant call me one day and say that the water dispenser had stopped working... Long story short the water had been shut off to the complex and thus he had no water anywhere. I hope this helps.
