It all depends on when you ovulate. As all women ovulate at slightly different times, it is hard to know exactly when you ovulate. You can chart your basal body temperature, buy ovulation predictor kits, and some women can feel a slight crampy sensation when they ovulate, but it usually goes unnoticed by many women. It is possible that you did ovulate around the time of your period. The ususal estimated ovulational dates are in the middle of your cycle(approximately 14 days from the beginning of your last period) but as I said, all women are different. Once the egg is released from the ovary it travels down the fallopian tube, where fertalization actually occurs. Once fertalized it either implants in the tube (a tubal pregnancy, or ectopic) or implants into the uterus. Also, as far as implantation bleeding goes, it is neither proven to happen or unproven, there are many variables.
