Hey all. I have two Pomeranians, one being a year old male, the other a female puppy. The puppy is still learning she shouldn't be going potty in the house & she is doing okay, aside from the pooping. Now my year old male who has BEEN potty trained is starting to poop in the house as well. I live in Buffalo, NY & it gets pretty damn cold here this time of the year. The problem is they play & **** around so much outside, then get cold so quickly, they don't potty & are pooping in my house a few minutes later! I know they have to poop too & let them out VERY VERY regularly (almost every hour), & discipline them when I catch them in the act, but its becoming very frustrating. Does anyone have any tips on how to get them to poop out there in this cold weather? Any advice on the matter would be great, thanks everyone!

Ahhh I know this one all too well. I have a Chinese Crested, those strange little hairless dogs, and mine flat out refuses to go outside if it is too cold or it is raining.

With mine it is the cold on his feet that he doesn't like as out back stairs and entertaining area are concrete. You can buy special little boots to put on them, they just slip over their feet and that eliminates the feeling of cold on their pads but it does require a little patience to get them used to wearing them.

Another option is to play with them in the house first and then take them outside as soon as you think they might be ready to potty. This requires a bit of precise timing but it should stop them playing in the garden for a long time first.
