In the 1953's movie the war of the worlds we see a martian approaching Sylvia farmhouse in the ruins of the farmhouse. We don't see any legs other than its shadow. Then when the martian puts its handon her shoulder the camera is at the Martian's upper body. Dr. Forrester then throws the axe at the martian. It screams then runs or slithers out in a wobbly motion. There is also a brief scene even before that of the martian approaching the farmhouse when Sylvia gasps and says " Something moved out there, it was one of them". In this scene we see again only the martians upper body. It also moves in a wobbly motion kind of like a moon walk. In the war of the worlds 1953's blueprint of the martian we see a pair of six legs attached to its abdomen. They also made a model of the martian from the movie that you can buy as a kit. This model has a look as a tree branch would at the very bottom touching the ground as it moves outwards. It looks as though this martian either has legs or moves in a slithering movement. What are your ideas about how this creature moves?
