I cannot get the screw tight enough under the sink - within 2 days it is loose - what is the problem. The faucet is 4-years old and was not cheap and it is driving me insane, I have tightened for the last time - any suggestions?

Use Basin Wrench to tighten the nut on faucet column. If you have plywood base + stone counter top than it may be too soft to hold faucet tightened. I suggest you cut out the ply and tighten the nut directly against stone. Question: what brand faucet is it ? Is it single column faucet ? Back to you. Milo

It is a Moen Faucet - single handle - did go get a Basin Wrench. The two copper lines and the spray hose are still in the way - cannot get Basin Wrench around nut - guess I need to start removing some lines...

Hi Scooby...

Another alternative here would be to call MOEN at 1800BUYMOEN and they will send you a special wrench they make for their faucets... called a moen faucet installation wrench.

You will need to disconnect the hose at the end of the threaded nipple and then slide this tool up and over the nipple and the nut... use pliers on the end of the tool to tighten real snug (or screwdriver through the hole at the end for leverage)... ;)

Questions? Let me know, OK?
