I recently bought this Wii HD composite cable for the pixels to come sharper for my we. It came with 5 different cables to plug into my HD TV. I have it all plugged in right. I went to play Mario kart Wii online and I happened to notice that the sound the items choosing you'll get isn't there. Some sounds you here and some you don't. I also happened to notice a slight change to this Wii HD composite cable. They put longer borders around the edges when you set your Wii to 4:3 ratio. The original cable for when you buy to it. The Wii had more of the screen to it like in playing super Mario all stars for Wii. Why did they cut the ratio down a tad? My main problem is this sound issue. Any ideas to why I hear some sounds?

As the Wii doesn't officially support HD resolutions you are using an after market upscaling system. These device are fraught with problems and rarely work as expected.

I figured out the problem. For some reason the white audio cable had to be plugged into a red audio slot. I really don't know why this is other than the fact the it's a cable design flaw.

Yes I know the Wii doesn't support HD resolution but the HDMI composite cable for the Wii does bring out the pixels more clear.

What you probably purchased were the COMPONENT cables for the Wii. This is to enable the 480p resolution that the Wii supports.

If you have a widescreen HDTV, go into the video settings of the Wii and enable the 480p resolution and set your screen size to widescreen (16:9) and make sure your TV's aspect ratio is set accordingly also.

Also make certain you have everything connected correctly. There are two red RCA connections! One is for the video and one is for the right audio track. So make certain you have the three video connections (red, green, and blue) all matched up with the same video connections on your TV, and then connect the two audio connections (white and red).

Please note that HDMI is a single cable for digital audio and video; component is three separate connections for video (red, green, and blue color coded); composite is the single connection for video (yellow color coded).
