I have lived in this house for over 11 years now, for several of those years my uncle and his kids lived with us, they caused a lot of problems around the park in the gated community, and the management has tried to kick us out many times. Be it that the house was the wrong color, the steps needed to be replaced when they weren't even broken, the front didn't have 75% green, or dirt was showing in the front yard.

They taped a 7 day notice on our back steps, it was a notice to comply, the house next to us left a fence when they were kicked out and now the management is trying to say the fence is ours and that we have to fix it, and tear down the fence we did build in the front of the house. Our dog we have had for nearly 4 years and now they are trying to say she is a pit bull, and that she barks at all hours and is housed outside. She is a lab mix, is allowed in and out of the house when she wants to be, and barks when people come near the house.

Before we built the fence in the front our house was broken into and stolen from many times, we explained this to the manager and they claim that the people stealing lived in our home, completely disregarding us. Our neighbors have trapped and taken my pet cats to the pound, knowing they were mine, but that's not the point. They are now complaining about the dog barking, yet their kids go to the fence and poke at her, yelling at her and kicking at the fence. When we go out they run back inside and say they don't know what I'm talking about.

They said the house needs repainting and the steps repaired or replaced again, when they were just done, we tried talking to them about the problems listed and they refused to talk to us about it. The 7 days were over and they ended up sending a 60 days notice, taping it to our steps again, stating something different then the 7 day notice but saying that we did not comply with it, and that we have 60 days to remove the house from the park. Since the notice came on the 12th of October, they have not sent us the rent, we guessed what the rent was and sent it in yesterday 11/5/11 and today 11/6/11 a worker at the office brought it to me and said to call the office, stating that there is a sticky note on the checks.

There was, it said "due to the 60 day notice in effect we are unable to accept your rent at this time"


So basically, the management is giving us problems, trying to kick us out, what can I do about this? Is what they are doing illegal in any way?

Do you have a lease? If you do not all the landlord has to do is evict you by State law. Why do you want to stay when these people so obviously want you out?

Reason being, my mother owns the house, just rents the land, and myself and my brother and fiancé and cousin have no where else to go. And we do have a lease, they came to do a renewal of lease and we turned it in, my sisters name was on the lease so they didn't accept it, we have gone through 5 managers in 10 years, each one found dead of heart attack in their beds. And the manager told us its not him that wants us out, it's the owner of the park. But whenever we call they won't respond.

You didn't know how much the monthly rent is? How come?

The reason being its slightly different each month, sometimes they charge up to 200 for gas, sometimes only 24 for gas, and every November is goes up.

Okay I still don't know what to do, I don't think what they are doing is right, I believe they are not going by the rules, and the manager is avoiding all contact with me and my mother, I don't know what to do, I have no where else to go, what options do I have, does anyone know any low income housing or something? I'm on Calworks right now. And my fiancé has SSI

Ok, so you are in a mobile home park? Even with a lease, the park probably has rules that you NEED to abide by. If you violate those rules they can kick you out.

But sine the lease was up for renewal and they rejected the signature, you don't have a lease.

Sorry, but the park owners have all the cards here. You need to find a new park.
