View Full Version : Water pressure relief valve leaking?

As I was leaving this morning, I noticed the cold water relief valve leaking outside my house. My washing machine was running. I flipped the relief valve a few times to see if perhaps it had some debris keeping it open, but it didn't shut off entirely. The relief valve is located on the OTHER side of the cold water pressure regulator.

Any suggestions or concerns are appreciated! Best, Herb Katz

You are using terms that aren't quit right. Is this a relief valve or a pressure reducing valve?

Measure pressure on the inside of the house. If you measure more than 75 lbs than your pressure regulator needs to be rebuilt or replaced. The pressure relieve valve leaks when pressure approaches 150 psi. I suggest after you replace pressure regulator to replace pressure relieve valve as well. Back to you. Milo
