How do I remove the American Standard Drain Assembly to remove the drain plug?

Hi Thelton...
Yeah, these new cable drains are a pain in the neck to clean.
Here, you have to disconnect the cable connection at the back of the pop-up assembly (under sink) and then remove some of the parts so you can finally remove the pop-up itself and clean all the parts.
I have only had to do this twice and the first time was hard to figure out but I finally managed to clean/clear the system.
If you have any other issues I suggest you call American Standard and discuss this with them. By now, they may have had enough complaints that they can e-mail you specific instructions on the break down, but more importantly, the reassembly of the parts... ;)
We no longer install American standard faucets because of this "new improvement"... *UGH*!
Back to you...
