Okay I rolled right my ankle a month ago and a few times since. It kind of hurts when I walk and it hurts when I play sports.
1. Should I get an ankle brace for playing sports? Like a hard active ankle one for my right ankle only when I play sports.
2. Should I get a soft one for just walking around? Or should I just put a tenser bandage on it or something? I go to a big school and it gets sore when I walk around. Should I get one?
3. I also have a slight knee problem on my right leg. What do I do about that?
4. I'm really embarrassed about all this. What will I tell my team when I need an ankle brace?
5. How long until it gets better? Or should I just wear an ankle brace for sports all the time and one for walking around until it feels better?
Thanks!

I rolled my left ankle and fell ontop of it about 3 1/2 years ago. It's never been the same since. I have 2 different kinds of ankle supports. One that laces up and one that has velcro and is a softer model.

I would recommend you wear the lace up kind whenever you play sports as this will help your ankle from being further injured. I would stay awake at night due to the ankle pain or just about scream when I'd put my foot down after first getting out of bed in the morning.

Now I only wear the softer velcro brace whenever my ankle bothers me.

Don't be embarrassed about wearing the ankle brace as if you don't wear it, your ankle could be permanently damaged if you keep aggravating it.

You will see relief in a few weeks if you wear it in the daytime. Try to stay off your feet in the meantime.

5, Wear the one for sports and wear the other one for walking around until it feels better.

I must have really done a number on my ankle as the entire ankle, top of foot and toes turned black and blue for 2 weeks after I fell on top of it.
