When one gets regular braces, do this those type of braces go on the teeth starting with ring around the first molar to wiring brackets in teeth to following ring on last molar?

I'm not an orthodontist but I provide resource information on the subject. Yes, traditional metal braces include a flat metal "ring" or band slid onto each molar to serve as a strong anchor point. All other teeth get a tiny metal or clear ceramic bracket cemented to the front or rear side (back-of-teeth braces are called lingual braces). An arch wire connects all the brackets and bands and is held onto the brackets with either individual tiny elastics (those are the different colors you see) or a sliding clasp (the latter is for a type of bracket typically called Damon System style). General info on braces is at www.Braces.org, the website of the American Association of Orthodontists. A typical diagram of brackets and wires is at http://www.abariorthodontics.com/braces-diagram.html. A third resource is www.ArchWired.com, a Q/A forum for adults in braces. Hope this helps. - Pam Waterman, President, Metal Mouth Media/Author - The Braces Cookbooks
