How can you dissolve ammonia in water and product ammonium ion and OH - ion and the this NH4 react with water to form H ions? Which predominates?

1. Bubble the gas through water. Ammonia is one of the most soluble gases in water.

2. Upon its dissolution, it'll react with water to form the ions you mentioned.

3. The production of OH ions predominates. Ammonium hydroxide (aka Aqueous ammonia) is alkaline, yes?
