I had to test wine for work training, I had a few tiny sips of wine. Will this show on a EGT test?

How much wine? Everyone has a different opinion of what a "few tiny sips" entail.
The presence of EtG in the urine, on the other hand, demonstrates that ethanol alcohol was ingested within the past three or four days, or roughly 80 hours after the ethanol alcohol has been metabolized by the body.
As a result, it can be determined that a urine alcohol test employing EtG is a more accurate indicator of the recent consumption of alcohol as opposed to simply measuring for the existence of ethanol alcohol." Urine Alcohol Test EtG (http://www.alcohol-test-info.com/Urine_Alcohol_Test_EtG.html)
Your employer tests for alcohol? Isn't that unusual?

Three factors: 1) amount consumed 2) time between consumption and testing 3) cutoff level of test (100, 250, 500)
Assuming that you had one glass of wine (5 oz)* it would take between 3-20 hours for the EtG to be eliminated using the lowest cutoff (100 ng/ml).
EtG is a direct metabolite of alcohol metabolism and is present in proportion to the amount consumed. Drink a little and there is little EtG.
As Judy noted, it would be very unusual for an employer to utilize EtG testing as these tests cannot be used to determine impairment (acute toxicity). If the test is simply urine alcohol then you would be completely safe as consumption under 1 standard drink wouldn't rise to the cutoff even if tested immediately after consumption (cutoff = .02).
*considered one standard drink (US)
