I have a General Controls B60Y64A123 Gas Valve on my Gas Furnace. I am replacing the Thermpile, but I am not sure what the Alum. Tube coming out of the gas valve and positioned next to the pilot is for. Please explain and does the end of the tube go in the flame or close to the flame. My gas valve is not opening, so I am replacing the thermpile thinking this is the prblem. I have no idea about the alum. Tube coming from the valve itself.

The tube is part of the pilot assembly. The tube when connected to the gas valve is how the gas gets to the pilot assembly if the two are not connected don`t try to light, even after you install the new thermopile

The Tube I'm referring to is separate from the pilot. Please see attached pictures. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.
