What sort of a bond was this? You were an employee? This fee you paid, 1 lac, was that the premium charged for the bond? Are you in India?

I did not pay 1 lac. . I just gave the cheque as secuirity. . Now they talk like we will deposit that cheque and make complaint on you.. . Like that.. .

I ask that question because where I come from, an employee isn't normally, as a matter of course, expected to pay for a bond.

I see. The check, deposited in lieu of a bond, was conditioned upon your continuing to work for the company for a specific amount of time. Whether the company's late-payment of your salary, etc. excuses your performance would depend upon, among other things, the terms of your employment contract.

The paperwork is in English I hope. :)

You might want to make a stop-payment request to your bank, if that is possible there.

ya it is in english only . . and one of my frnd said that if we make stop payment . .it will turn to criminal case by the reason of intension to cheat like that . .

Yes, it is possible, depending on the specific definition of such a crime in your country. I can't help you there, other than to suggest that perhaps you had no such intention at the time you wrote the check and, even now, you do not subjectively believe that you owe the money to them. Again, depending on the banking laws where you are, a check may not be cashed after a certain period. In some places I believe that time is six months. You wrote the check in June?
