Are you talented? Write her a song. Make her an original music video of her favorite music/song. Does she like animals? Take her horseback riding and plan a nice picnic..?

I would take a woman on a balloon flight but they can be costly but it is an amazing experience>>in my opinion and somewhat romantic and unique.
Oh geoff, that sounds lovely : )

Some of my most favorite Valentine gifts were homemade.
A dinner, a card, sweet words.
Geoff I was asking chuff , about hurricanes... just to make sure we aren't blown away on our travels...
Well to keep on the subject of valentines day... seriosuly what a crappy day, I have always hated it.
Seeing those men line up to get flowers once a year to "prove" their love. Why not do that every day of the year instead?
My ex and me never celebrated this day as he told me he loved me every day of the year and did not have to prove it just on that day.
I agree rol, but it especially hurts this year doesn't it? The fact that it is plastered all over TV, posters, in restaurants etc. I will be at college that night so that's good. There is a woman there that always bakes, she makes chocolates and cakes etc, they always cheer me up!
That's funny now you mention it ,I have not noticed anything advertised here about it at all.
I have not watched TV in weeks and have not been in town either, maybe that's why.
Plus I am the only single person in my college class on a Saturday! : ( there are loads of single people on the Wednesday night class! Mostly women, in their 40's

We are big on spontaneous little goofy gifts for no reason now but...
In the beginning I made him valentine cards and birthday bookmarks -- I can draw so it was easy and years later when I see them saved and used, it really warms my heart.
Not to feel outdone, he cut out magazine pics and stuff and pasted talking balloons next to them after stealing good card ideas from the ones in the store--I found out later. LOL They were corny and hilarious (looked like a kindergartener did them) but OMG the courage and effort really wow'd me.

Hello
You need to get her something that means so much to her, something that she is interested in.
My boyfriend always buys me something sweet but with not a lot of thought. Last year I was trying get him something that he could have forever and nothing else could replace it. He is so close to his friends and family and knew that they meant a lot to him. So I made him a huge scrap book which took me 8 weeks to complete. I filled it with loads of things that brought back memories for him e.g T in the Park tickets, football cut outs, holiday plane tickets and photo's of course.
Hope it helps

Geoff-
I did that one year. I sent myself flowers. Because hey if you can't love you... who can??
And I was my own best valentine.

Its funny, the first 2 years, me and my ex celebrated valentines day but the 3rd year, we did not bother... Well we went out for a meal but did not do the card thing...
The best valentines present is to tell someone you love them!! It always worked with me!! :o
But you got to mean it otherwise it is worthless!

Come to think of it, those words 'I love you' hold a lot of value, yet people use them every day without really thinking about what it means to love someone.

My husband and I go to a wine tasting benefit for a local children's hospital the weekend of valentines day. On the actual day we just get movies and cuddle on the couch. The wine tasting benefit is a fun way to celebrate or love, (it is where we got engaged).

You can also build up some dutch courage if you get engaged at a wine tasting day. I got engaged to my errr ex at some lakes in the countryside in front of the ducks... QUACK! QUACK!
It was quite romantic come to think of it..

Jewelry is always good... it doesn't have to be a ring or expensive. A nice necklace or bracelet always makes me happy (-: Good luck

I would look into something romantic. Perhaps you can get her a valentine's day gift (http://bestgiftsfor.net/2011/01/gifts-for-valentines-day/
) that is completely unique, perhaps you can make something. If you're still drawing a blank, check out the link below.
