Nope, sorry, not that easy. Has to be done legally either by yourself doing the paperwork and filing with the courts, or through an attorney to do it for you.
Ah, if life were only that easy...

I wish it was that easy, we would put 1000's of attorneys out of business.
But no there is no truth to that what so ever.
If you know where they are at, you have them served with the motion in court. If you can not find them, have no idea where they are at, then you have to do the news paper publish as a form of service, but then you have to still go to court, and honestly, it is much cheaper if you know where they are at and serve them, and they agree to divorce. If youu have to do service in the news paper, first that newspaper add is normally many 100s of dollars, and then the court and attorney are higher normally.
So if you have no money check out the legal aid department in your area ( if in the US) check out law schools, some have last year students working under professors doing some work.
Check out a paralegal who may just fill out the paper work for you to file.

Who told you this? As the others have said its total garbage.
If you don't know where your spouse is, you can place an ad in place of proper service of a summons. But you apparently know where she is.
If she agrees to the divorce, it can probably be very inexpensive, just a few hundred bucks.

You need a Court Order to serve by publication.
