I am currently in SC but very far from family and friends. I would like to move to Arizona but I am unsure about what other options might be better financially I am on a fixed income.

Are you open to living anywhere in the U.S. Remember that there are more variables than the financial aspect.

A terrific book to check out from the library is the current Retirement Places Rated (http://www.amazon.com/Retirement-Places-Rated-What-Deserve/dp/0470089598) that weighs those variables in charts and descriptions.

I want to live in the southwest which is more centrally located between family and friends.
Thanks for the book recommendation

I have 2.5 acres of undeveloped land just west of Kingman, if you want to buy it from me and move to that part of the state. You'll be close to the Grant Canyon and to Las Vegas. :D

Seriously, the Sedona area is wonderful.

I am not interested in developing land. I currently have a home on a small lake in SC It has been up for sale for some time. My real-tors really like it but the market is really slow here. It is paid for and I have been looking at foreclosures in Sun City and Surprise. I guess I will take your advice and try that book and do some more research. Thanks
