The city needs to service (batteries) the radio water meter (MXT?) in my basement... a nicely finished basement (done by the prev. Owner). Regular shutoff and original meter is easily accessible, but apparently the actual radio meter is up behind the drywall. I can either buy a new meter ($125) and have it attached down by the accessible stuff, OR cut an access hole. If I cut into the wall to create an access panel, any tips on how I can pinpoint exactly where the meter IS so I do not need to butcher the finished wall needlessly? (the wire leads up along where the pipe must be, so it SHOULD be within a 4' stretch above the shutoff)thx
