MY husband and I would like to adopt a baby. There is a young girl who is expecting, has 3 other children that she cannot have (court ordered). She is willing to do an open adoption, just not sure what the process is for that in NY when there is no adoption agency involve. If anyone can help me with these questions that would be great

You would be very foolish to even attempt to adopt a child without the advice of an Attorney specializing in these matters. Many things can go wrong now and in the future.

You need an attorney, pronto.
The child may be taken from her at birth if the other children have been taken away. That would mean that the state would be involved in the adoption, and that she may not have the option of an open adoption with you. A lot would depend on what exactly is causing her to lose her children.
Frankly, I see a lot of heartache in this situation, and you NEED a good lawyer to protect your interests (and the baby's!) if you chose to go forward with this.
Frankly, I highly suggest that you look into an agency adoption rather than pursue this, as I see a lot of red flags in the situation without knowing the whole story.
