Hey guys! I have two Pomeranians, one being a year and a half old male, the other a four month old puppy. I don't know what it is about this breed (I have had three Poms), but they are a HASSLE to potty train! It took my male, Aspen, a good four-five months to be fully potty trained, and it looks to be taking my girl about the same amount. But lately, Aspen has been sneaking away at night to poop & pee in the house! It has been over a year since he has done this! But he goes in the same spot where my puppy has accidents... Always in the kitchen. Could this be because she is doing it, he thinks it is okay? How can I control this before my kitchen becomes a permanent toilet? HELP!

Are you thoroughly removing the scent left by the puppy? I had a Lab that "covered" my other two younger dogs - whenever/wherever they bathroomed, he did the same thing on top of theirs. The secret was to thoroughly clean up.
I don't think it's unusual to have a dog not completely housetrained by 4 or 5 months.

I agree with Judy, you need to remove all of the scent, just regular mopping or cleaning doesn't remove it completely. You need to invest in a good enzyme based cleaner, they actually break down and remove the odor.
I have one here who took me until he was about 10 months old to be fully toilet trained. There's just something about toy breeds and having a stubborn streak when it comes to going to the bathroom outside.
