I've enabled the L2TP server on my SonicWall firewall. I can establish a VPN connection over a 3G connection using an iPad and browse to shares on a physical Windows Server 2008 using a file browser application for iPad. I cannot connect to shares on any of 4 virtualized Windows 2008 servers using the same VPN connection and App.

I am able to connect to all shares while connected to the Wifi network that is an extension of the server network where the shares are located.

Please advise.

You didn't say if the virtual servers are in the same network as the other windows 2008 server.

The physical server and the virtual server are all on the same network, in the same IP range. While connected to a wifi extension of the same network, I am able to browse shares on both the physical server and the virtual servers. When I am outside the office and connected via L2TP VPN, I am only able to browse shares on the physical server.

Hope that helps!

I would check the "interesting traffic" on the l2tp vpn, that is what ips it is allowing to pass to the internal network through the vpn.
