My history with this girl goes over 2 years, she liked me for 2 years and would text me everyday even when I didn't like her then eventually I started to fall for her and we ended up in a relationship together. We went out the entire summer and 2 months after so ontop of the 2 years we talked we've been dating for 5 months. I'm 19 and she's 18.

My girlfriend has been on and off talking to me for the past week now, I've known something was wrong. So last night she says we need to talk then heads to my house, so we sit down and I ask if were breaking up and she looks extreemely said and says she's a bad girlfriend and that she's working 2 jobs and has school and she barley has anytime for herself. She says she wants a break but didn't say how long, she said the feelings are still there and she just wants me to focus on myself for right now and that she still wants to talk and stay close.

Give her what she asks for and focus on having a good happy life with friends, and activities that you enjoy. Don't be miserable, it sucks, but not the end of the world. Just make some adjustments to your social life that doesn't include her.

She may miss you she may not, you just have to hope for the best, but plan for the worst.

I agree. Whether its 2 years, or 2 months.

When a girl wants to break, then respect that. Give her what she asks. Now that's true love.

Lay off.

Breaks usually mean breakup, just prolonging the agony. Prepare for the worst. If you haven't already.

Do your own thing, like before.
Have fun.

Her? Who?

The problem is not the break, or the break up. You have fundamentally dammed yourself by choosing for this person to be the owner of your happiness. Regardless of what happens in a relationship everyone is always looking to live a happy life. If you are not happy by yourself then how can you expect to make someone else happy with you as well. She is done, and for all you know is moving on, I suggest you do the same. Keep busy and work on yourself, at least she gave you one good piece of advice.
