Hi, I wanted to know how can I sue the police department. 1 of their officials is going around spreading rumors and they were harassing me, calling my phone or, when they saw me, telling me I have to know what happened to me. I already told the hospital, and my 6 year old son did as well - he was the person that found me. I had a blood clot in my head and I fractured my skull on Aug 5, 2011 and the officer is going around saying my friend beat me up and had victims of violence come out , etc. I just want to know what can I do or who can I talk to about it. I have to deal with getting better, then have to deal with going outside to people running up to me with all this false information. I really need help.

What they appear to be saying doesn't appear to be slanderous. They are just doing their job in investigating whether a crime has been committed.
From what you have said, you don't have a case.

Ok, so you were found with a skull injury and taken to the hospital. And the police are claiming your friend beat you and your story is that you don't know what happened. Correct?
If so, where is the slander?

If by "going around telling people" they are investigating by talking to people that know you, and asking them what they know about this, that is their job, it is called investigating.
Next they are not saying you did anything, but be a victim and that appears to be the truth, the only issue is we don't know who did it,
So you the victim is not the one being talked about, it is the person they say did this to you.
If the officer or officers do not believe you, ( that you don't know what happened) and think you are hiding the truth, it is their job to try to find out what happened.
I just see this as them doing their job, and you don't like it.
