I see several posts regarding Moen faucets having problems with foaming and repulsive odors. I had a home built a few years back and have had problems at specific sinks in the home (not all sinks). The odor resembles a sewer gas, it dissipates, but within 30 minutes of using the same sink, the odor returns. I have contacted Moen today and they tell me this is news to them... yet, I read that several people have contacted them about this very same problem. I have had the city water department involved for months. I have had plumbers involved for months... I'm shocked this hasn't been turned over to an attorney to see if there is a class action that can be initiated. Has anyone contacted anyone for legal advice? Has anyone heard a definitive answer about their problems?

I have used Moen for over 45 years and this is news to me too. A more likely cause of the odor is a failing trap of a bacteria buildup inside the sink over flow chamber. Has anyone tried using a 4:1 mix of bleach and water yet?

Odor is coming from the cold faucet, not the drain or over flow chamber. Have been going insane with this problem for some time. Every plumber walks away scratching their head. Disinfection of home lines eliminates it only temporarily. Just surprised to see so many other people experiencing the same problem. There are other blogs as well with posts complaining about this.
