Verify that (1-(cosx- sinx)^2)/cosx=2sinx

If you multiply out the (cosx - sinx)^2 part, you can then apply the identity cos^2x+sin^2x=1. It falls right out from there.

sin^2*(1+cot^2)=1

Convert the cotangent function to cos/sin - it's straight forward from there.
