I was wondering if I have had a successful pregnancy a year ago and just found out I'm 4 weeks along now, would my chances of chemical pregnancy be lower or the same? I'm really worried, because I'm having menstrual like cramps and some back pain. I really haven't had symptoms apart from eating a bit more regularly, constipation, and urinating more frequently. I didn't even know I was pregnant with my son until I was 8 weeks. With this one, I had 3 positive tests that are darker from a very light positive 7dpo to a very dark at 11dpo. Now I am just about at the time frame for menstruation and I'm scared that I got my hopes up for nothing. Also, I am only 21 years old with no history of miscarriage. I just need some releif really.

Hi hancock_td,

Your odds would be about the same. There is a slight increased chance of occurrence if someone has had a previous chemical pregnancy, depending on the cause.

Many women, in early pregnancy, will feel as though their period is about to start. Usually, as long as the cramping and back discomfort are not severe or long lasting, it would be considered fairly common.

Congrats! Wishing you a smooth and easy pregnancy... :)
