Ok I'm 33. Been getting b.v. Frequently for last 4yrs or so. The last 5months its almost constant. I've asked my dr she says some women just get them more often. Before anyone asks or suggests. Yes I've taken the medicine exactly as prescribed. Dr even doubled up the dose so it was metrogel twice a day not just once. No perfumes, no douching, wiping front to back etc. I've done it ALL. Tried probiotics, no help. Here's my monthly schedule. Get my period, within 4 days b.v. Is back. Wait for period to end to start metrogel. After a few days of using it, I get yeast infection from the gel. Finish the gel then start why.I. Medicine. All the while NO SEX. Then I start spotting for my next period. I have about 2 'free' days a month where I can actually be intimate with my fiancˇ. Someone PLEASE PLEASE give me some advice. I'm willing to try anything at this point.

I had recurrent bacterial vaginosis for years. I was getting it literally every month. I was married for 12 years to my first husband and never had it once. When I started dating my current husband, I started getting it regularly. We have now been together for ten years, and I have tried everything I could possibly think of to get it to stop, all to no avail. Doctors couldn't help me - other than to prescribe me antibiotics, but the BV kept coming back. I felt strongly that it had something to do with my husband, although I couldn't figure out what it could be. Finally, I had him start pulling out every time we had sex, and I am not kidding you - I have not had BV since (it has been about eight months). I think my vagina just doesn't react well to his semen. :) Try this! I am sure it is not the answer for all women, but hopefully this will end the nightmare for some women suffering from this annoying problem.
