Hi,

I'm 24 and have been living with a girl now for a while who has a boyfriend back in her home country. I've never felt this way about anyone before and its killing me hanging out with her all the time knowing that I'll never have her affection back. She is really nice and we get on great, she even seems to flirt sometimes and has no problem with me holding her (though I may be mis-reading the situations). Through our discussions we've had I'm sure we are both extremely against cheating and I'd like to think I'd not try anything on with her, she seems to love her boyfriend.

I don't know what to do... I figure I could try to avoid her but I live in the same "halls-type accommodation" and I couldn't bear not being friends with her. Another option is to totally act fake, not mention my feelings for her but I have a hard time acting fake, I have to be honest and I've shared more with her than I ever have before with anyone.

I guess I don't know what I'm asking.. Just advise on the situation in general... I had to write it down

Just because you live in the same building doesn't mean you can't spend time with other people and friends.

You should have to fake being a good human being to another human being, and showing respect for her relationship, and feelings by keeping yours to yourself.

You are old enough to control your feelings, and not let them control you, and take you down a bad path. Be cool, calm, and collected, and in control of yourself, and stay on the path of Good Orderly Direction, and honorable behavior.
