Hi I am having problems with my furnace. It is a Pulse and is only about 7 or 8 years old. The problem is, is that it works for a while and then it will NOT kick on again. If you turn the power off at the thermostate it will come back on and will work again anywhere from 4 to 10 hours before it stops and you have to restart it. (it is not making any weird noises)

We have changed out the filter and cleaned out the blower area. I have also changed the thermostate because we thought that might not be sending the signal to the furnace. No such luck. Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong with this? It heats just fine, when it will turn on.

Thanks for any help or suggestions!
AJ

There is an intermittent problem that is making your furnace go into lock out mode. If you have a red light down in the blower area on a circuit board, see if you can check the code that it is sending our to you, and you may have a booklet or it may be printed on the bottom door. If you can find the problem you may can fix it.

Thanks for the information. We looked for the red light you mentioned and didn't see one. We decided we were tired of freezing so we called the repair man in. The problem ended up being a sludge blower(?) Just a little fan that was 22 years old and didn't come on every time it was supposed to. Since the exhaust wasn't being expelled from the furnace it wouldn't turn on.

Thanks again for taking the time to try and help us out. I don't think we would have ever found this ourselves! Have a great day!

I won't advise anyone, even my own techs to service a "Pulse" furnace. To service it you must go to a Lennox school. PS. Most Pulse models have had numerous recalls.
