Hi- I know of someone who went to Marine Corps Boot Camp and was discharged- reason is unknown, but he did not graduate. Is he still considered a Marine? He is calling himself that to everyone, wearing his dog tags and has Marine magnets and stickers all over his car. I believe he was alos bragging about getting the veteran's discount at a local auto parts shop. My husband who is a former Marine who served in Desert Storm is livid about this. I have looked all over the internet and can find no information. Thank yoU!

It was only marine corp boot camp, which doesn't mean he is was actually accepted into the corp. You have to survive boot camp before you progress onto all other training.

If you know this, then why are you upset that he is wearing dog tags, which can be purchased anywhere; as for the magnets on his car, well that is probably bogus too.

Tell your husband to calm down and not make an issue about this. All he has to do is get his name and do some research through the vet administration to find out what is going on.
