I have an Acer Aspire 5251-1805. It has a Synaptics Touchpad V7.2 that works fine except that in the Device Settings I cannot enable any of the scrolling options so I cannot scroll with the touchpad.

When I just open the Mouse application, it first says that I am unable to connect to the Synaptics Pointing device Driver and asks me if I want to uninstall it. When I click No, I get to the actual Mouse options. In the Device Manager, I show 2 drivers installed.

Any ideas on what I should do to enable scrolling capabilities or to simply fix the error message from showing?

Thank you

I found synaptic pads to be a little temperamental, but normally fixed after a driver update.
This should cover it for you
