My daughter has really never been a big "urinater". Unlike my son, who is in the bathroom many times, my daughter has to be made to go once or twice a day. She drinks plenty of fluids, has beautiful pink lips, and never complains of having any pain. Her pediatrician says that if she is not complaining and doesn't appear dehydrated not to worry about it. Does this sound wrong to anyone else? Maybe I'm just overly cautious, but, as a single dad, I am not sure how often a little girl should be going to the bathroom. Please help.

Sounds pretty normal for some kids to me. My 9 year old son uses the bathroom maybe 2 or 3 times per day. As long as she is not complaining about burning when she pees, or as long as she is not running a temperature I wouldn't be too concerned.

Family of FOUR,
Welcome to this beautiful site, first!
Nothing to worry, normal. Quite normal. There is problem, if there is anything abnormal, any pain or any complaint by HER.
Do not worry. Everything is well.

As someone who pees much more than normal, I am always mystified by friends who rarely go at all and yet are quite healthy. Maybe they absorb more water into cells where it is used to burn calories, as I understand it, although I don't see very thin people with this trait necessarily.

Then you haven't met my children. ;)

Thanks so much to all of you. Like I said, her pediatrician says everything is OK. I guess I was just being overly concerned. Thanks again to all!

Welcome to the site :)
My child (8 year girl) goes frequently through out the day. But I, even from a young age, only go once a day. And that's it. Sometimes twice (morning and night)
Everyone is different. Unless there is pain involved, or her doctor is concerned, there is nothing to worry about.
Again welcome :) and good luck :)
