I purchased property 2 years ago and just in the last 6 months my neighbor states they have a right away through my property , It was noterized 18 years ago yet never filed so it never showed on the deed when the serch was done. Is this legal the person I got it from says that it is a forgery .Where would I go to to find out my rights , the neighbors were allowed to use my right away because theirs is steep but as soon as I told them I didn't want them going through my property all this has happened.. She even went to the court house and had it filed 18 yrs after it has changed hands

This is probably subject to local laws (ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.)

Did you purchase title insurance when you bought the property? If so, contact the carrier who should defend against this. If the easement was not registered and the property has changed hands the easement may have expired with the change of ownership. Did you allow the use after you took ownership or did you stop it immediately upon assuming ownership? This may have a bearing if it comes to court.
