It sounds like he is using in real life what he is learning in school.

In my opinion this sounds like he is asking how much drugs are. . 5 is 1/2 a gram and drugs are sold by the gram at least where I live. I am speaking about pot by the way. I think if you want to know what it is you need to ask.
