The doc messed up the dosage for over 2 months. Was given 3ml and she said it was supposed to be 1ml. It wasw for ADHD but he is 4 years old and can not explain to us if he feels different. Was given 3ml and should been 1ml. She even asked my wife if mg was same dosage as ml...

Was the child harmed by the increased dosage? You will need another Doctor to give you an opinion - you need harm in order to sue (if that is what you are thinking).
May I ask what the name of the medication is? Also, how much does your child weigh?

Medication is Risperidone and he weighs 46 pounds he has gained 4 pounds in 2 months on this drug
Weight gain is definitely a side effect of this medication. Unfortunately none of my literature here at the hospital has any information regarding use of risperidol in children younger than 5 years old.
These questions may best be answered by speaking with your pharmacist.

Risperidone is antipsychotic drugs and the dosage can be very wide variety from start dosage 1mg bid to max dosage 16mg/daily effective dosage is 4-8mg/day Solution 1mg=1ml your son took 3mg/day should not have big harm. How is this med.work? Any side effects which you can see by you.For ADHD this is not the drug of first choice.

It wasn't the first choice by our doctor but because our insurance has us meeting $6000 deductiable for prescriptions and doctors visits and we just now finally met it but did not meet it when we first started taking it. First drug would have cost of 1200 a month. No side effects except he has gained several pounds and when he first started it he was great but after adjusting it so much he is whiny then he was before. And one more thing we noticed is he used to fall asleep at a good time before he would not sleep till after 11pm and after we lowered it again he was not falling asleep again. We did pick up a vitamin that helps kids go to sleep. It helps a little but we are not giving him full dosage yet.
