For a manual transmission, it's on the transmission housing, just below the distributor. Project a line down from the rear of the distributor and it should run right into it. Replace the washer, for the switch to function properly and not leak.

It's part of the automatic transmission gear position switch assembly.
First, check fuse no. 15 (10A) in the under dash fuse box. Second, test the back-up light switch by shifting the shift lever to R and turning the ignition switch ON. Third, if the back-up lights do not go on, check the back-up light bulbs in the taillight assembly. Fourth, if the fuse and bulbs are okay, disconnect the 14-P connector from the A/T gear position switch (back-up light switch). Fifth, move the lever back and forth at the R position, without touching the push button, and check for continuity between No. 4 and No. 5 terminals. There should be continuity within the range of free play of the shift lever. If there is continuity, but the back-up lights do not go on, check for poor ground or an open in the YEL or GRN/BLK wire.
