It starts in the 1960's. Two guys drag race. One of the guys dies and ends up in heaven. Where he is then sent back to earth 18 years later to help his teenage son (only he doesn't know that he's his son). Midway through the movie he realizes that the boys mother is in fact his girlfriend (he shows himself to her and she faints) and her husband is the guy he raced with when he died. At the end of the movie he earns his wings and goes to heaven, via escalator. Please help! Thanks!

Hey guys, I found out the name of the movie after hours of searching the web. It is called "The Heavenly Kid" starring Lewis Smith, Jason Gedrick, Jane Kaczmarek, and Richard Mulligan. But thanks for trying anyway.
