I got my belly button peirced a week ago and it looked to be healing well until a few days ago when it started going all red and weird. I'm pretty sure its infected but the weird thing is that it looks like my body is trying to swallow the top ball. I've been cleaning it with warm, salty water twice daily. What is going on and how do I fix it?

Wash the wound with warm water and a disinfectant(dettol). And apply coconut oil every night. If you can get neem oil use it as it helps it get better sooner. And visit the doctor if it gets worse.

NEVER use disinfectant on a piercing as it can cause chemical burns inside your skin and possible poisoning.
How concentrated is the saline solution?
Remember to wear loose fitting pants and shirts during the healing process, which can take up to a year.
The top ball is being "swallowed" because either A. the skin is healing that way and you need to move the piercing more (with clean hands) or B. the bottom ball is too heavy. Switch the bottom ball to a smaller or lighter bead and be sure to move your piercing around a few times a day to keep the skin from wrapping around it as it heals.
