Is a honeywell pro (th3110d) the correct thermostat for heat pump and heat coil unit

Should be fine for a heat pump. Hope you have some experience installing a stat, here the manual http://www.forwardthinking.honeywell.com/related_links/thermostats/pro_3000/install/69_1846.pdf

The honeywell 3110D I looked uo is for single heat and cool only, if you plan to use heatpump only and not have a backup furnace/airhandler you can use it... for HP and furnace you need a 2 heat/1 cool tstat.
