I have a sewage smell in my kitchen that has covered the entire house. It only comes when the weather changes from hot to cold. I have tried bleach in the sinks, plus some lemon foam stuff I purchased from Lowe's. It works for a few hours but quickly the smell comes back. There are no leaks that I can see.
OPEN FOR ANY ADVICE?

This could be a problem with your vent stack which should terminate above your roof line. Check the entire length of the stack to insure it has not separated anywhere including the aattic. Sewer odors can rise up a vent stack and then roll down the roof like a cloud, reentering the home through windows and/or doorways. Also check all drain traps and toilets for bad seals. BTW you can not see a leak in a seal if its swer gas.

It only comes when the weather changes from hot to cold.] Sewer gas raises in hot weather and falls during cold weather. Is there a bathroom over your kitchen? Any noises from the sink when you drain? Any more details that you can give us? Back to you, Tom

@ Ballengerb1... where exactly is the vent stack? Is it off the pipes under the sink. There and open end cap ( I call it that. It has vents in it and that seems to be where the smell is coming from)
@ Speedball1... There is no noise from the drain. It drains normally. Only the oder from under the sink.

Hi Kay,
The vent Bob's referring to is a roof vent.
the oder from under the sink. Are you saying that the smell comes from UNDER the sink in the cabinet and not from the drain? Back to you, Tom

@ Speedball1... Yes the odor is coming from under the sink. It appears to be coming from a pipe. The end cap on the pipe is vented and the odor seems to be coming from there.
It was the struder valve. I replaced it and the smell went away. $29
