View Full Version : Corrupted Registry Key

Hi,

I am using WinXP. There is a corrupted key in my user profile registry and every time it touched (by any means - if I am trying to delete or export it, or registry scanner hits it) computer crashes. This key is located in Shell/Bags section and serves no useful purpose for me. If I log under different user profile, I can delete those keys but it reappears when I log under my profile - so it's obviously stored somewhere else.

Is there anything else I can try, besides reinstalling OS (deleting my profile does not work - same reason as described above. It is stored somewhere else and creating a new profile with the same name brings it back).

Renaming my profile is not an option.

Thanks.

Hi,

You can try going into Safe Mode and log in as the Administrator and try to delete or rename the file this way. Sometimes this works.
